Pictures may reveal endless stories of the things or humans captured in frames. Garuda Indonesia has been continuously exploring the vast and infinite tales of life by holding the Garuda Indonesia International Photo Contest (GIIPC) since 2007.
As an appreciation for the jurors and winners of 2007 – 2009 GIIPC, Garuda Indonesia has organized a photo hunting trip to Sakai, Japan on November 18 – 22, 2009. The Sakai photo hunting trip also publicized the GIIPC to the international world. Japan’s photo enthusiasts were expected to be involved in the event, considering the photo hunting trip was a response to the Sakai’s government invitation of a photography hunting trip friendship program between Sakai and Jakarta.
Other than a form of appreciation, the Sakai photo hunting trip tried to encourage various international photographers to join the next GIIPC and create awareness amongst photographers about the GIIPC.
