Garuda Indonesia International Photo Contest 2009 is entering final step and invited 15 Finalists from 7 countries (Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) to Indonesia to join The Final Hunting Trip Program on 3rd – 9th August 2009.
The Finalists are 1 finalist from China (Ho Hin Wing Henry), 5 finalists from Indonesia (Gathot Subroto, Muhammad Fadli, Handri Ramdhani, Effendi Surjadjaja, and Fransiskus Simbolon), 1 finalist from Myanmar (Aung Pyae Soe), 1 finalist from Thailand (Suriya Nuntasukhon), and 5 finalists from Vitenam (Thai Than Nien, Nguyen Xuan Han, Thoi Luu Thuan, Vinh Dang Quang, and Tran Thanh Quyet).
2 finalists could not join the trip are Goh Koon Peng (Singapore) dan M. Rakibul Hasan (Bangladesh).
With the mission, ‘Save Our Heritage Program’ from Garuda Indonesia, all Finalists visited Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo and Magelang which are full of historical site.
On 3rd August 2009, all finalists arrived at Jakarta and got a briefing from Judges about destination, rules and regulation of the contest. The next day, on 4th August, Garuda Indonesia representative Mr. Agus Priyanto (EVP Commercial) met all finalists on Welcoming Ceremony held at Garuda Indonesia New Office.
All Finalists are divided into 2 groups, and each group will be lead
by one Tour Leader and 2 Judges.
On 4th August, they started The Final Hunting
Trip for 4 days and visited many historical site, such are Borobudur
Temple, Ambarawa (Rail Station Museum), Kaoeman Batik Village (Batik
Museum), Tembi Cultural House (Culture Museum) and they also found
Indonesia society with his unique and special characteristic.
On 8th August, Winner Announcement Ceremony has been held on Taman
Candi Borobudur.
The first prize went to Gathot Subroto with his
photo of Borobudur and received Rp. 30.000.000,-. Fransiskus Simbolon
received Rp. 20.000.000,- and got the second prize with his market
photo. And Third Winner is Muhammad Fadli with his Becak also received
Rp. 10.000.000,- .
